Is your work set up contributing to your aches and pains?
Repetitive activities and postures held in the same position can cause repetitive strain injuries within the body, even the simple act of sitting at a desk can be a huge predisposing factor to pain if not done right!
Check now if your desk is set up correctly!
- Is your computer screen up high enough to be at eye level, and 20-30cm away from your face?
- Do your forearms rest gentle on your chair arm rests or desk at a 90 degree angle?
- Does your chair have a curve that matches your spine so it can support you?
- Are you ears, shoulders and hips in line? No slouching!
- Are your feet flat on the ground?
Poor work set up and posture can cause pain in the neck and back leading to headaches, shoulder, elbow and wrist pain, and continuing to use poor posture can drive the pain cycle onwards.
Our friendly osteopaths will gladly help you organise a work set up that is right for you and help teach you how to use your body in the right way when at work.
